The Laurenz Herting Foundation for research into cancer, MS and COPD was created as a result of the Herting family being deeply affected by personal strokes of fate. After several battles against various types of cancer, MS and COPD, they recognized the urgency for more research and innovative therapies.

But it is not only the fight against cancer, MS and COPD that is close to the family's heart - even before the foundation was set up, they were already working in Africa to alleviate hunger and poverty. Their conviction: Everyone has the right to a healthy life.
